Background

Mabalengwe Agriculture is a company incorporated in 2016 with a bias in the provision of consulting and development services within the agriculture commodity value chain (VC) sector. The company was formed with a purpose of complementing the already existing strategies and plans to develop businesses along the value chain. Furthermore, Mabalengwe prides itself in having capacity to carry out feasibility and viability studies, preparation of agriculture business plans, impact evaluations and mentorship.
Mabalengwe has a huge interest in the development of agriculture within rural communities and marginalized communities. The directors have over 35 years combined experience agriculture development.

Our Directors

Musa Senda
Executive Director


Our Executive Director has over 20 years professional experience in the fields of business and agribusiness management and has held various executive positions over the last 17 years. Musa is currently pursuing his doctoral degree studies with UNISA focusing on agriculture value chain development. Musa holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (2006), Bachelor (hons) of Applied Biochemistry (1997) and is a member of the Institute of Business Advisors South Africa (IBASA) and The South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA). He has been exposed to the grain, livestock (red and white meat) and horticulture sectors. While in the agriculture space he has been involved in business planning, feasibility and viability studies, training and mentorship, impact evaluations, exploiting entire value chain of the ostrich and poultry subsector, Micro Agriculture Finance Institutions for south Africa (Mafisa) as an Development Finance Intermediary (DFI) and has also managed agriculture grant development funds.

Tshepo Phaahla
Managing Director


Our Managing Director is a livestock Specialist and holds National Diploma in Animal Production and completed a BTech with University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2014. Qualified master mentor, Assessor, and facilitator. He has in-depth knowledge of both monogastric and ruminants which extent for a period of fifteen years (15). Business development, business planning, mentoring and training of agricultural graduates through credits bearing qualifications His major interest is the development of commercially-oriented livestock producers through entire value chain and youth development programme.
